Where has big Willie gone? He was all over the news like a red rash last week but has gone quiet this week over Shannon's slots to London's Heathrow.

A senior Labour Party source has confirmed to ireland.com that party leader Pat Rabbitte is to resign as leader this afternoon.
The Labour Party press office announced earlier today that Mr Rabbitte would make a major announcement at a 3pm press conference.

From today's Irish Independent exposing Willie O'Dea for the Sleveen he really is
Mr O'Dea is clearly hoping the reaction in the area to his outbursts will be along the lines of: "Good man, Willie, at least you're doing something."
The minister must think the people he represents are gullible to believe him when he is giving a version of events which he knows is completely contradictory to the position of the Government in which he serves.
In general though, within Government circles, Mr O'Dea's intervention isn't being taken terribly seriously. "Ah sure that's just Willie being Willie. This is why he gets his huge vote in Limerick East," an insider said.

Little Willie Style. Willie O Dea is still at it I see from tonights news. Willie is crying Wolf but doing nothing. He is all talk and no trousers. He should quit the Cabinet in protest. Willie O Dea is as two faced now during the Aer Lingus Shannon crisis as he was during the taxi strike during the new licences protests. O Dea voted for the measures and then protested about it at home in Limerick. Now as a minister he supported the selling off of Aer Lingus and now he is blaming the company instead of taking responsibility. Typical two faced O Dea. No shame and wont take the blame.

So it seems Privatisation doesn't work. Well not for the people in the South West of Ireland. Aer Lingus' decision to pull a profitable and vital route out of The Shannon London route was a vital piece on international infrastructure which has been destroyed for a purely capitalist pursuit of profit. There can be no doubt that there will be hundreds if not thousands of jobs lost in the coming year due to this decision.
Worse still is the silence coming from our government who own a quarter of the airline. Aer Lingus will profit from this decision but the people of
