Socialism is not a dirty word
Cllr Keith Martin

Socialism is not a dirty word, it is a principal of sharing the wealth according to means, ie to each according to his needs, from each according to his means, although it is more commonly associated with an equality of opportunity such as income, education etc etc.
However, C**k is a dirty word, as is bugger and so is rub, if you mean to rub yourself in your intimate area.
So now you know!

Is facebook just a place for people to talk about being pissed or getting pissed and putting up photos of themselves being pissed?

I have found a nice blog that even I can find no fault with. It is very amusing interesting and (insert compliment here).
It is by Graham Linehan, a creator of Father Ted, and is by any standard a great blog.
Why, that's delightful is a collection of opinions, funny clips and (insert something else here) that make it a great blog, just like this one used to be before I let it go to wrack (is that spelt correctly? or shouldn't it just be wreck?) and ruin.

Nice one, Graham, oh and I like the IT Crowd too.

Just watch how Cowen handles himself when there is no-one around to tell him what to do or where to go.
Remember this is not a comedy clip, this is our Taoiseach, this is the man in charge, this is the guy responsible for leading us through the current crisis.

This is beyond satire, it is so unreal that it is a parody of itself. Hubris!

Youtube advert launched

Labour's Candidate in Westport, Cllr Keith Martin, has launched a new YOUTUBE video, which uses Google Earth to zoom in on Westport to dramatic music. This the second online advert in Martin's campaign which aims to attract younger and web-savy voters to his cause.
The theme of the video is that "things can only get better with Cllr Keith Martin" and the viewer zooms in from space across Europe and the UK to zoom in on Clew Bay and ultimately the town of Westport.
Entitled "Small World-Big Decisions" the video urges voters to support the Labour Candidate in his bid to secure a seat on Mayo County Council under a campaign of change and that "Things can only get better!"
According to the councillor "Its a positive message which shows how Westport and County Mayo are part of a much bigger world and that we have big decisions to take to tackle the current crisis. I am saying that I am the man to take those decisions. My campaign and this message is a positive one, I am pointing out that things can get better, that we can work together as a community to fight the effects of this recession. I am offering leadership not excuses and I think this advert gets that message accross."

Ministers-why do we need them?
Cllr Keith Martin

JOB LOSSES and service cuts at Dublin Bus are a matter for management and unions at the company and not the Government, Minister for Transport Noel Dempsey said last night.
So what's the point in having a Minister for Transport?
Mary Harney has no direct intervention in the HSE so why do we have a Minister for Health? Surely someone else can write out Drumm's cheque?
John Gormley is powerless to stop incinerators even though he is the Minister responsible so why do we need him either?
Never mind scrapping Junior Ministers, lets get rid of everyone except Cowen and Lenihan, and we could keep Coughlin for the comedy value.
We'd save Millions on Ministers who seem to have no responsibility anyway for anything

Iggy Pop sell out

Iggy Pop's advert for car insurance doesn't work on too many levels.
Many people will not be sure who he is.
Many people will not buy insurance off someone who doesn't wear a shirt. You can get away with not wearing a tie but a shirt is a bridge too far.
Its a bit of a sell out.
Sh0ut at someone else Iggy, I'm not listening..................and for God's sake put on a shirt your grandchildren must be mortified!
