Why wasn't Bertie there?
Was he out looking for files that will one day be exhibited there in the museum?
Or was he afraid the Commissioners would clap him in irons and leave him there till he told the truth.
Or was it the fact that he just could not face Dublin Castle again without being compelled in law?
