Mary Harney to go into space

10:22 PM 0

It would be very easy to make a joke about Mary Harney's $400 haircut and her very very expensive trip at the taxpayers expense to NASA headquarters so here goes....................

PIGS IN SPACE!
pictured above is former FAS chief Rody Molloy and Mary Harney TD on their way to the International Space Station.

Thanks to repairs the space station can now accommodate 6 persons.

Perhaps it will make an ideal bolt hole for Brian Cowen, John Gormley, Harney, Lenihan and Co to hide out until things get better here on earth?

Appropriately the space station recycles urine into drinking water which is very apt considering this government is happy to allow people in Galway and elsewhere drink their tap water flavoured with human excrement!

Pat Kenny throws an Alan Partidge fit over rejected tickets

2:33 PM 2
Poor old Pat Kenny,

Not only was he labeled a land grabber over his dealings with his neighbour earlier this year but the overpaid undertalented RTE personality threw an Alan Partridge like fit of pique over a women rejecting tickets to the Late Late Toy Show!

Tearing the tickets up on air Kenny was every bit as embarrassing as his alter ego Partridge.

Will somebody please put manners on the man?

Oh divine and glorious day

10:17 AM 0
The day of judgement has come at last for the corrupter and the so easily corrupted, as Former Government press secretary Frank Dunlop is charged with 16 counts of corruption before Dublin District Court after being arrested at Harcourt Terrace Garda Station by members of Criminal Assets Bureau.

Listed among the rogues gallery is Political Quote's favourite pugilist former Senator Don Lydon (who once tried to twist Trevor Sergeant's head off).  Others named in the charge are Fianna Fail councillors Sean Gilbride, Tony Fox, Colm McGrath, Jack Larkin (deceased), Cyril Gallagher (deceased), Fine Gael's Tom Hand (deceased) and Liam Cosgrave, of Fine Gael.

It is alleged money was handed over to the politicians at different locations in Dublin, including Buswells Hotel and Davenport Hotel, both near the Dail, and Conway's Pub on Parnell Street.

Political Quote of the Day

9:40 AM 0
Dara Calleary, TD for Mayo, said the main problem with the Budget was the way it was communicated. "Reforming the public sector would help pay for important concessions and other measures to improve the business climate."

Dara, me old mucker, I am afraid that the main problem with the Budget was that it was crap, nothing to do with communication at all!

I kissed Brian Cowen

6:19 PM 1
Political Quote is proud to have produced and we now present for your pleasure the music video "I kissed Brian Cowen............and I loved it!"

Just click above to view or listen to number one hit for 2008.

Is this a Christmas Number 1? We think so just based on the high production values of the video alone!

View the clip above and sing along with the lyrics below.

I saw him on the 6 1 news
He spoke so softly
With his big hands and his big head
Oh yeah he's from Offaly
So let's go, my biffo
Take me down the M4
Make me a cup of tea
And then shut the bedroom door.

I kissed Brian Cowen and I liked it
He tasted of a sausage sandwich
I kissed Brian Cowen just to try it
I hope Mary Harney don't mind it

He has it all, he's so Fianna Fail
Enda Kenny won't get my love tonight

I kissed Brian Cowen and I liked it
and I liked it

My Brian he is so magical
Fat face big lips so kissable
He showed me all of his cattle
And I like men with livestock
Next week were going to the ploughing championships.

I kissed Brian Cowen and I liked it
He tasted of a sausage sandwich
I kissed Brian Cowen just to try it
I hope Mary Harney don't mind it

He has it all, he's so Fianna Fail
Enda Kenny won't get my love tonight

I kissed Brian Cowen and I liked it
Ooh but he loved it

Politcal Quote presents Brian Cowen the music video.

Cowen is more unpopular than Bush

3:40 PM 0

For any politician to have a lower popularity rating than George W Bush takes some doing.

To achieve this without being involved in the Iraq war etc etc really takes some doing.

Remember the US is in recession as are all our EU partners (except France) and their leaders are still more popular than Biffo.  It takes some doing to have fallen so far in so short a time.

What an achievement!  Stand up Brian and take a bow then please leave the stage altogether.

Biffomania is over!

For the man many (in particular in the media) thought was going to be "bigger than Jesus" sorry, I meant the best Taoiseach since Lynch etc etc he has fallen far short of the mark.

It seems the only paper to call it right was the Sunday Turbine who said that despite all the hype about Cowen's supposed abilities "the great fear is that there is less to Biffo than meets the eye".

How right they were.

Mayo's Dara Calleary said: "We're not going to be popular at the moment because decisions have to be made. It would be easy to put them off and not make them and have to do a lot worse in a year's time. We have to make them now and stick with them. He's the man to do that."

This blog is once again dedicated to snapping at the heels of those we don't like and we are back with a left-wing vengeance!
After losing all of our money on stocks were pissed off and ready to pounce on the powerful.

Watching that appalling programme The Late Late Show and after 30 years they still can't get the phones to work on the show!  What a load of crap hosted by an overpaid, claim staking, wooden man.

and as for Gay Byrne, he has retired so many times only to keep popping back on the screen.  Would someone take him out the shed and put him and us out of our misery, the poe faced, insincere, crabby old git.
